your.mp is a free service for members of the UK House of Commons from politics.co.uk.
MPs and their staff are able to update their own profile, add surgery dates, add contact email addresses and post about their work in their local constituency, all from one handy web address of your.mp/[MP name]
We allow people to advertise to MPs through the platform, so when MPs are logged in they will see a small banner ad which helps pay for the platform. Advertisers can advertise to all MPs, a selection of MPs, or one MP in particular.
Every ad is transparent to the public on our ads transparency page. No ad is every shown to an MP that the world cannot see on this page.
All ads are vetted by the politics.co.uk team. Ads cannot contain profanity, pornography, personal attacks on the MP or party they are a part of. Other political parties or MPs cannot buy ads against their political rivals.
MPs would either have to pay via IPSA funding (which itself is funded through taxation), via their parties (if they are part of a party) or via their own earnings/crowdfunding. We felt it was fairer for all MPs to have equal access to the platform and give constituents a chance to access their MP’s work in their community via an ad free experience.
